Now: Nadi Shodhana
This week will be an Introduction to Nadi Shodhana. The discussion will be around the energetics of second series and how it differs from primary series.
Course work will include applying the fundamentals to Second Series and applying clues in Primary Series to Second Series.
Backbends of Intermediate
This week we will explore the backbends of Intermediate Series. We will discuss props, tapping into strength, modifications, and you will have an opportunity to share videos of your own backbends for us to analyze together and look for ways to improve them.
Transitions and Deep Hip Opening
This week we will talk about the transition poses that link the back-bending section to the hip-opening section.
We will discuss prana and apana patterns in the body and postures.
Taking Flight!
The strength postures of Intermediate Series - after spending so much time getting open, it's time to tap back into your strength. This week will include strength drills to do outside of your practice.
Stay Open
After all the strengthening you might feel your shoulders start to tighten up. This section makes sure you maintain flexibility.
And finally, the 7 deadlies. Your final check on your central axis, these postures are critical and we will talk about why.
Final Backbends and Closing Postures
We finish Second Series with a backbend sequence. But, it's grown up. We are adding in viparita chakrasana for a new degree of challenge.
And we would never forget leave out the closing postures - they tie it all together and let the sweet residue of your practice settle.

Of course I'd love to see you on the live calls. But, I know that we all have lives outside of our yoga practice! You can submit questions in advance. All calls will be recorded and the recordings will be posted on the course website - so you can watch them at your convenience.
You should be comfortable with the primary series of Ashtanga yoga.
The course is five weeks long. This means we will have 5 live calls that will last about 1 hour each.
There will be videos and practice prompts assigned to you each week of the course. And you will have a little pre-course work.
No problem. We will build a solid foundation, break down the poses step by step so you have lots to work with, and make connections to primary series.
Plus, you will have access to all the videos well after the end of the course, so you can go back and review as your practice progresses.

We are never really "finished" with a series anyhow. There is always more to learn, especially as things continue to shift and change.
This course will help you make connections between Intermediate Series and Primary as well as Advanced Series - so you can extract more from your current practice.
